Three agricultural workers died and 17 others were injured when a minibus carrying them hit a retaining wall yesterday in Urfa, southeastern Turkey.
The workers were on their way to a field to work, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported. The bodies of those killed in the accident were taken to the morgue of the Şanlıurfa Forensic Medicine Institution while the injured were treated at nearby hospitals.
According to the Health and Safety Labor Watch (İSİG), a group that monitors work-related deaths, at least 52 agricultural and forestry workers were killed on the job in August, making up more than one fourth of all work-related deaths this month.
