At least 18 people were killed after being hit by vehicles belonging to law enforcement forces or public institutions in the last four years, the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (TİHV/HRFT) has announced.
Nine of the killed people were children and one had disabilities, said TİHV. Also, 50 people, including 14 children, were wounded in similar incidents in the same period.
Most of the incidents occurred in the country's predominantly Kurdish-populated eastern and southeastern regions.

The latest incident happened on January 14 when an armored vehicle hit Abdulgaffar Dayan (23) in Cizre, Şırnak. Dayan lost his life at the hospital on January 24.
In the last year, four children and two adults lost their lives and 15 people, including six children, were injured in nine separate incidents, according to the TİHV.
2020: Two incidents, one person was injured, two children were killed.
2019: Six incidents, two children and one adult were injured, one child and two adults were killed.
2018: Seventeen incidents, six children and 25 adults were injured, two children, one person with disabilities, and four other people were killed. (AÖ/VK)
