Abdulgaffar Dayan, 23, has lost his life after being hit by an armored vehicle on January 24 in Cizre, Şırnak, in southeast Turkey.
Dayan was going to the private teaching institution for university entrance exams when he was hit on a bridge on Yafes Street, Mesopotamia Agency (MA) reported.
Seriously injured in the crash, Dayan was taken to Cizre State Hospital. Hwe was being treated at the intensive care unit after undergoing surgery.
Dayan lost his life today (January 26) after his condition worsened.
The vehicle that hit him was an escort vehicle of a sub-governor, MA reported, citing witnesses. Authorities have not yet made a statement about the incident.
According to the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (TİHV/HRFT), at least 16 people, including nine children, lost their lives after being hit by vehicles belonging to law enforcement forces and public officials between January 1, 2018 and September 10, 2021. (HA/VK)
