Ayşegül Tözeren, a literary critic and a physician who was detained yesterday (August 20), has sent a message through her lawyers.
Saying today his her birthday, she remarked that she has served literature and the profession of medicine for more than 15 years.
Fatih Polat, the editor-in-chief of the daily Evrensel, shared the message on Twitter:
"Today is my birthday. I have been serving the medical profession for more than 15 years. I have been working to contribute to Turkish literature perhaps for longer. I have always believed in solidarity and in creating together.
