Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) İstanbul MP Feti Yıldız invited the prosecutors to prepare indictments for the 28 investigation reports against Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu kept waiting at the parliament so that Kılıçdaroğlu can stand trial in relation to them.
If this happens, Kılıçdaroğlu, the presidential candidate who competed with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the dual elections for presidency on May 14, and the second round on May 28, and who received 47,82 percent of the votes in the runoff will stand trial for the many accusations in these 28 files.
The charges include insulting, threatening, slander, praising crimes and criminals, trying to intervene with a just trial, insulting public employees working on a board for their duties, inciting hatred among people, and propaganda of a terrorist organization.
Yıldız wrote on his Twitter account, "The MPs will take an oath on June 2. Since the Republican People's Party (CHP) president Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is not an MP now, his immunity will be lifted."
"The investigation reports about him keep waiting on the shelves of the Constitution and Justice Commissions of the Parliament.
"The Chief Prosecutors can start criminal cases against him by converting these 28 investigation reports into indictments which have been prepared for various crimes such as insulting, threatening, slander, praising crimes and criminals, trying to intervene with just trial, insulting public employees working on a board for their duties, inciting hatred among people, and propaganda of terrorist organization," Yıldız said.
Under the law, previously opened cases that are halted for members of parliament continue when their immunity is lifted.
