No presidential candidate was able to secure more than 50 percent of the votes required in order to be elected the President in the first round in May 14 elections in Turkey.
With this result, the second round of the presidential elections is going to be held on May 28 where the two candidates with the highest votes will compete.
47 thousand 523 new voters who will have turned 18 will be able to vote in the second round of the election who were not able to vote in the first round.
The election calendar starting today will be as follows:
May 15 Monday
The period for replacing any one of the candidates entitled to participate in the second round of the presidential elections in case any of them do not participate in the elections for a reason will expire at 17:00 pm.
In case the announcement of the provisional results is delayed, the election calendar for the replacement of the candidates will be deferred accordingly.
The propaganda period will start.
The objection period for the balloting committee decisions and reports to be made at the district election boards will end at 17:00 pm and any objections made will be resolved by the district election boards until 23:59 pm at the latest.
May 16 Tuesday
The period for objections to be made to the provincial election boards against the district election board decisions and the combination reports will end at 5:00 pm and any objections made will be resolved by the provincial election boards until 11:59 pm the latest.
May 17 Wednesday
The period for objections to the decisions of the provincial election boards and the provincial combination reports to be made to the Supreme Election Council (YSK) will end at 5:00 pm.
The district election boards will start entering any changes in the lists of balloting committees and others appointed in the elections in the Election Information System (SEÇSİS).
The overseas election board will make changes in safekeeping and transportation boards, balloting committees, and other officials, if any.
May 18 Thursday
The objections made to the decisions and the combination reports of the provincial election boards will be resolved by YSK.
May 19 Friday
The final election results will be sent to the related authorities by the YSK for them to be published in the Official Gazette and be announced on the radio and TV channels.
The district election boards will complete recording any changes to be made in balloting committees and others appointed in the SEÇSİS system and will assign those newly appointed.
The information related to the voters who died in this period will be taken from the General Directorate of Civil Registration and Nationality and the necessary procedures will be realized to add annotations for them on the ballot box voter lists.
May 20 Saturday
Voting will start on the borders and in the ballot boxes abroad.
May 21 Sunday
The district election boards will start preparing the bags that include the election materials and tools to be delivered to the balloting committee chairpersons.
The period for the applications for the presidential candidates for their radio and television propaganda speeches, and for the candidates or their representatives and the Turkish Radio and Television officer to participate in casting lots to determine the order of their propaganda speeches will end.
May 22 Monday
Lots will be drawn at the YSK for determining the order of propaganda speeches that the presidential candidates will make on the radio and television.
May 24 Wednesday
Voting abroad will be completed.
The radio and television propaganda speeches will start.
The period will be completed, for the preparation of the bags that include the election materials and tools to be delivered to the balloting committee chairpersons, including the ballot box voter lists that have been printed out,
May 26 Friday
The process of comparing the lists of those in prison who can vote among the arrested, or convicted of negligent offenses, with a third list to be requested from the Chief Prosecutor's office will be completed and the lists will be printed.
The bags including the materials and tools necessary for the elections will be handed over to the balloting committee chairs in the villages and neighborhoods outside the provincial and district centers.
May 27 Saturday
The election propaganda period will end at 6.00 pm.
Printing of the final list for those in prison who can vote among the arrested, or convicted of negligent offenses will be completed.
May 28 Sunday
The voting will take place.
May 29 Monday
The provisional results of the presidential elections will be announced.
The objection period for the balloting committee decisions and reports to be made at the district election boards will end at 5:00 pm and any objections made will be resolved by the district election boards until 11:59 pm the latest.
May 30 Tuesday
The period for objections to be made to the provincial election boards against the district election board decisions and the combination reports will end at 5:00 pm and any objections made will be resolved by the provincial election boards until 11:59 pm at the latest.
May 31 Wednesday
The period for objections to the decisions of the provincial election boards and the provincial combination reports to be made to the YSK will end.
June 1 Thursday
The objections made to the decisions and the combination reports of the provincial election boards will be resolved by YSK.
YSK will send the final election results to the related authorities for them to be published in the Offical Gazette and to be announced on the radio and TV channels (AS/PE)
