Constitutional law professor and former lawmaker Prof. Burhan Kuzu (65) lost his life due to Covid-19 yesterday (November 1).
Kuzu served as an MP from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) for three terms between 2002 and 2015. He also chaired the parliament's Constitutional Committee during his first two terms as an MP.
He had been receiving Covid-19 treatment for 15 days and lost his life in the intensive care unit, said the chief physician of Medipol Mega University Hospital.
Born in the central Anatolian province of Kayseri on January 1, 1955, Kuzu graduated from İstanbul University Faculty of Law. He started his political career in 2001 with the foundation of the AKP. (RT/VK)
