Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation against Peoples' Democratic PArty (HDP) MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu over his claims that a prisoner tested positive for coronavirus in Ankara, the capital.
He said in a tweet that a 70-year-old inmate at Sincan No. 2 Type L Prison was diagnosed with Covid-19.
The prosecutor's office refuted the claims and opened an investigation for "creating fear and panic among people."
It said that a prisoner who had a chronic disease was sent to Ankara City Hospital on March 22 and that the person was not a Covid-19 patient. (TP/VK)
