Heavy machinery entered today the Çambükü village in Taşova, Amasya, protected by the gendarme.
Çambükü is a village in Amasya in the middle of the Blacksea region of Türkiye, where there is a plan to build an Organized Industrial Site (OIS), however on meadows and arable fields.
The villagers who have already sued the plan went to the area where the OSB is planned to be built and wanted to stop the machinery to do any work while the judicial process is continuing.
The gendarme on the other hand set up a barricade to prevent the villagers.
"We don't have any field left"
The villagers said, in reaction to the gendarme protecting the heavy equipment, "It is us who is hurt." One villager shouted out after a woman felt faint and said, "It is enough, we don't have any field left. Enough is enough! We want justice."
An activist shared a short video of the villagers trying to prevent the heavy machinery from entering their village in a tweet and said that confronting an administration breaking its own laws, the villagers want justice, and that "this is the voice of growers whose land is seized. This is the voice of all of us. #Çambükü"
