Four people have been injured in an explosion early today (February 7) in İstanbul's Asian-side district of Üsküdar.
The explosion occurred at the top floor of a four-storey building in Valide-i Atik neighborhood. All the wounded people were hospitalized, with one in critical condition.
Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen said the explosion might have been caused by natural gas while the İstanbul Fire Department said the cause of the explosion was yet to be determined.

"Natural has explosion"
Visiting the scene, Üsküdar Sub-governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek also said the initial findings suggest that it was a natural gas explosion.
One of the people wounded was a student who lives in the flat where the explosion occurred, he added.
The building will be demolished because it presents a danger, he further said.
After the explosion, police, firefighters and medical teams arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area.
Several buildings on the street where the explosion occurred have been damaged. As a precaution, six buildings have been evacuated. (FD/VK)
