Two vehicles in the countryside of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, were struck by armed drones today, resulting in the killing of three people and injuries to two others.
The internal security branch of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, which controls the region, has stated that the strike was carried out by Turkey, according to a report by the Hawar News Agency (ANHA), a pro-Kurdish agency based in the region. However, Ankara has not yet made any official statement regarding the incident.
In recent years, Turkey has increased its targeted drone attacks on Kurdish groups within the borders of Iraq and Syria. In one of the most recent incidents, two canton leaders of the autonomous administration in Syria were killed on the same day in June. (VC/VK)
