A guiding locomotive has crashed in the northwestern Bilecik province while it was inspecting the high-speed railroad between İstanbul and the capital Ankara.
The two drivers of the train, Recep Tunaboylu and Sedat Yurtseven, have been killed in the accident, United Trade Union of Transport Employees Chairperson Hasan Bektaş announced.
İstanbul-Ankara and Ankara-Konya high-speed railroads have been closed after the incident.
Guiding locomotives conduct inspections on the railroad before the first commercial service of the day begins.
