Emergency medical teams were dispatched to the Beycuma Type-M Closed Prison in the northern province of Zonguldak over the suspicion of food poisoning after 163 inmates applied to the infirmary, complaining about vomiting and diarrhea.
Twenty-nine inmates were sent to the Zonguldak Atatürk State Hospital. They have been discharged from the hospital after treatment and said to be in good medical condition.
Governor Erdoğan Bektaş said in a statement, "29 people were sent to the hospital. No one's life is in danger. 29 people whose treatment was completed have been discharged. There is no clear information on the cause of poisoning. Samples have been taken from the food. Clear things can be said according to the result of the analysis." (HA/VK)
