The gendarmerie in the central Anatolian province of Aksaray has begun putting reflective collars on stray dogs to enable drivers to see them at night.
The Environmental, Natural and Animal Protection Team of the Provincial Gendarmerie Command said it had put all dogs on a leash on two intercity roads and all village roads in the province.
"In the province of Aksaray, which, in terms of location, connects the north to the south and the east to the west, our work to make Aksaray an animal-friendly city will continue with determination," the Gendarmerie Command said in a statement yesterday (January 26). (TY/VK)
