Turkey has sent a suspected coronavirus patient back to China, Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca has announced.
A citizen of China applied to a hospital on Wednesday night (January 22), shortly after coming to Turkey from Wuhan, the province of China where the outbreak has begun.
She had been kept under surveillance for 36 hours and was sent back to China upon her request, Koca informed. The minister noted that none of the passengers who were in the same plane with the patient were infected from the virus.
Authorities have not yet reported a coronavirus case during the screening of travelers from China at airports, the minister further said.
In the wake of a deadly viral outbreak which first spread from Wuhan, the capital of central China's Hubei province, travelers are being screened at several airports across the world.
Speaking at a news conference, Fahrettin Koca confirmed that the cameras were installed at all airports.
"No suspected cases have yet been encountered," said Koca. (PT/VK)
