Moscow remains in contact with all parties interested in the Syrian settlement, intends to facilitate dialogue between the Syrian government and the Kurds, according to Mikhail Bogdanov, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister.
He also called on the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to join the Syrian Army as quickly as possible, the Interfax agency reported.
When asked by reporters about the timing of the SDF's possible joining the Syrian Army, he said, "The faster, the better."
"We have contacts with all parties interested in a peaceful settlement based on the principles of respect for the sovereignty and unity of Syria," Bogdanov further said.
Both Russia and Damascus previously called on the SDF to join the army on more than one occasion, whereas the SDF rejected the offers, demanding special status and a reorganization of the army.
Turkey launched a military offensive into northern Syria to remove SDF, which it considers as a "terrorist organization," from border areas. After capturing several towns, it reached agreements with the US on October 17 and with Russia on October 22 to cease its operation in exchange for the withdrawal of the SDF. (PT/VK)
