Fatih N. the leader of the "Uşşaki" cult, has been remanded in custody for sexually abusing a child.
The incident was revealed after Y.A., a 12-year-old child, told their mother what happened. The child's family then notified the gendarmerie, which raided the Islamic monastery (dergah) of the cult in the northwestern Sakarya province on August 27, daily Sözcü reported.
As the abused child's family also went to the dergah with the gendarmes, a brawl erupted between the cult members and them. Fatih N. and some other cult members were detained after the incident.
The cult leader was remanded in custody today (September 2) after the testimony of eyewitnesses and other pupils in the dergah, according to which he abused other children as well.
In a video that recently went viral on social media, Fatih N. is seen urging his followers to "infiltrate the control mechanisms of the state." (AÖ/VK)
