The rescue efforts continue on the 6th day of the earthquakes centered in Maraş.
The Disaster and Emergency Presicendy (AFAD) announced the latest updates for the February 6 earthquakes.
Accordingly, the death toll rose to 20,665 as of 08:30 am. this morning while the number of aftershocks recorded was 1891.
A total of 31,831 rescue workers are working in the earthquake-hit region, 8,294 of which are rescuers from other countries. 80,088 people have been rescued.
92,697 people affected by the earthquake have been transferred to other cities.
102,274 family tents have already been erected and 170,902 tents and 1,5 million blankets have been sent to the ten cities hit by the earthquake.
Four mobile psycho-social support centers have been established in Maraş, Hatay, Osmaniye, and Malatya.
12,141 collapsed or heavily damaged buildings
Murat Kurum, the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change announced that there are 12,141 buildings and 66,058 independent building sections that have collapsed or that are heavily damaged throughout the country.
Citizens can get information on the buildings which have collapsed or are heavily damaged from the e-state applications or from a website. (AÖ/PE)
