New 7.6 earthquake in Maraş

Southeast Türkiye was hit by a second 7.6 earthquake, centered in Elbistan, Maraş, following the first deadly earthquake earlier this morning.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) announced that Türkiye's southeastern province of Maraş has been struck by another 7.6 earthquake at 13:24 PM today after the 7.7 earthquake hit Pazarcık, Maraş at 4:17 AM.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had, an hour ago, announced that 912 people have been reported to have died in the first earthquake centered in Pazarcık, Maraş so far, and 5 thousand 385 were injured.

The earthquake centered in Elbistan, Maraş occurred at a depth of 7 kilometers (4.3 miles).
