İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality has announced that it will hire 420 contractual employees in 44 sectors, including two Kurdish language instructors.
The applicants for Kurdish instruction must have a bachelor's degree in Kurdish Language and Literature and must be younger than the age of 30.
The Kurdish lessons will take place at the municipality's İstanbul Arts and Vocational Training Center (İSMEK), which is free for İstanbulites.
Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu promised in August that the Kurdish language courses will open and elder people who speak only Kurdish will be given care services in Kurdish.
CHP's Ekrem İmamoğlu won the mayoral election for İstanbul in June. (TP/VK)
