Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcem was discharged from Covid-19 treatment yesterday (December 3), 108 days after his diagnosis on August 17.
Böcek shared a photo on Twitter and said he was happy to return to home after months and sent greetings to the people of Antalya.
As his condition deteriorated during his treatment, he was put to sleep in the intensive care unit on September 7.
Following the coronavirus treatment, a tracheostomy was applied to Böcek, who suffered a puncture in his lungs and had asthma.
He was transferred to Akdeniz University Hospital on September 25 after being intubated.
Having spent 64 days in intensive care, Böcek was taken to a normal room on November 9.
He then received physiotherapy to increase muscle strength and improve respiration. (EMK/VK)
