People over 65 years of age were able to go out yesterday (May 17), for the second time since March 21 after a curfew was imposed by the Ministry of Interior.
Last weekend, they were permitted to go out between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. For this weekend, authorities allowed them to go out between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., taking rising temperatures into account.
Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca warned the elderly to wear a mask and maintain a distance of 1.5 meters between one another.
Zeki Oğuz (70) from Konya, central Anatolia, told the Anadolu Agency that they went out to enjoy good weather. "We have been imprisoned at home for two months. This was a lost season for me. I begin to go to nature in February. I am a former journalist and a photographer. I love to go to nature both to have a good time and to take photos."
