"Children are biggest victims of firearm accidents"
The Umut Foundation, which works against Individual Armament, emphasizes that children are the primary victims of accidents involving firearms, whether they are legally owned or not, and states:
"The rate of individual armament is increasing day by day, and those responsible and authorized are turning a blind eye to this issue... Despite the fact that several Members of Parliament who are sensitive to the issue have submitted research proposals and bills aimed at preventing individual armament to the Grand National AssemblyParliament of Turkey, unfortunately, these proposals and bills are not accepted. This is effectively allowing individual armament to continue.
"And as a result of this tolerated individual armament, those with easy access to firearms of all kinds are injuring and killing not only people but also animals on the streets, such as cats, dogs, and any other living beings...
"Justice and legal regulations, preventing individual armament, and the proper enforcement of justice are necessary for everyone, for everyone." (AÖ/PE)
