Efforts to bring the fire under control in the forested area of Kuyucak neighborhood, in Akseki, Antalya, which broke out yesterday afternoon, continue. On the ground, numerous bulldozers, heavy machinery, fire trucks, and forestry workers are engaged in the operations.
Five helicopters and 2 planes were used to combat the fire this morning.
Şırnak
A fire broke out in the forested area of Bunîsra village in the Gabar Mountain of Şırnak, which was forcibly evacuated in the 1990s. There are two military towers in the area where the fire started, the Mezopotamya Agency reported.
Eyewitnesses explained that oil exploration activities were being conducted in the area where the fire originated, and the fire broke out after consecutive sounds of dynamite explosions.
Eskişehir
The forest fire that erupted in the Taştepe region of Alpu district in Eskişehir has been brought under control.
Interventions both from the air and the ground were carried out yesterday in the area forested with Scots pine and juniper trees. As a result of firefighting efforts conducted with 14 bulldozers, 5 water tankers, 3 fire trucks, 3 heavy machinery units, and over 100 personnel, the fire has been brought under control.
The reason why the fire broke out is yet to be determined.
