According to the last evaluation by the Meteorology General Directorate (MGM), the air temperatures will be 4 to 10 degrees above the seasonal normals today throughout Turkey.
Experts are warning that the citizens, and above all those with chronic illnesses, the elderly, and children, should not be in open areas between 11:00 and 16:00.

The July 26 report of the MGM shows that the northeast parts of the country will be partly cloudy, and in some places very cloudy, that the inner and high altitude parts of East Blacksea region and the northeast part of East Anatolia will see local showers and thundershowers, and that the other parts of the country will be with some clouds or clear.
“Seasonal normals” starting from Thursday
İstanbul Meteorology Regional Directorate Technical Branch Manager Günseli Özgül told Anadolu Agency that the Regional Forecast and Warning Center had forecasts for each district in İstanbul and that the highest air temperature expected in İstanbul was between 36 and 39 degrees centigrade.
"The air temperature which is above the seasonal normals at the moment will warm up further on Wednesday and be 7 to 9 degrees over the seasonal normals," Özgül said.
She also announced that with the northerly winds, air temperatures will return to seasonal normals from Thursday on.
All people, especially those with chronic illnesses, the elderly, and children, are advised to be cautious between 11:00 and 16:00 hours. The updated weather forecasts can be found on the website and also on the mobile application of the meteorology directorate. (AS/PE)
