Five citizens from Yeşilova district submitted a petition to the Isparta Administrative Court, requesting the suspension and cancellation of the tender on July 31.
Announcing its interim decision, the court has requested all the documents related to the tender from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanism and the Housing Development Agency (TOKİ), including the tender approval document, documents regarding all actions that were taken after the tender approval document was drawn up, and all documents regarding which administrative authorities taken and approved the decision for the tender.
"The court wants the case file to come to it as soon as possible," Tunay Koç, an attorney who is among the people who filed the lawsuit against the tender, told bianet.
"If there is public pressure, the project can be canceled"
"Before the defense, the court requested all documents from the Ministry of Environment and the TOKİ regarding the basis of the tender. It shortened the normally 15-day time to five days on the grounds of summary procedure. From this, it is understood that the court wants to make a verdict as soon as possible.
"It is too early to give an opinion on whether the court will cancel the project or not. But the Ministry of Environment must make a verdict of cancellation before the court. But judging by the ministry's and the government's general stance, we don't think a cancellation will happen. For this reason, this is up to the court and public pressure. If there is public pressure, it can be canceled.
"Seven firms made bids in the tender on July 31. According to the results that are expected to be announced in the coming days, the winning firm will build one coffee house, one health unit, two administrative units, two selling units, one sitting area, one kitchen area, one scullery, two cafes, two mosques, four changing rooms, and four toilets."
