Ergin Çağlar, a reporter for the Mezopotamya Agency, was detained at the Mersin Courthouse on 16 August as part of an investigation conducted by the Mersin Public Prosecutor's Office.
Charged with "membership of a terrorist organization" at the police department, Çağlar was asked about the statements of witnesses and anonymous witnesses.
After the completion of the proceedings at the political branch of the Provincial Security Directorate, Çağlar was sent to the courthouse today.
Çağlar rejected allegations at the Prosecutor's Office. The Prosecutor's Office referred Çağlar to Penal Court of Peace, requesting him to be released on the condition of judicial control. The journalist was released by the court. (SO/VK)
