Police Summoned to Samsun Anadolu High School Upon Students’ Declaration

Police have been summoned to the Samsun Anadolu High School whose students have published a declaration criticizing the school administration.

İsmail Yavuz, Education and Science Workers' Union (Eğitim Sen) Samsun Branch Chairperson talking to bianet, has reported that the school administration has called the police upon graduate students and others gathering in the schoolyard concerning the declaration.

“Teams from Anti-Terror Department have come to the school, we don’t know whether students have experienced any intervention yet later the situation has faded”.

Following contents have been posted from the Twitter account “Samsun Anadolu Lisesi”;

“The graduates calling on to the students in the schoolyard have been thrown out by force. Police have been summoned to the school.

“The high school students are following the obscurantism happening. And they are showing their reaction against the obscurantism of the curriculum, devaluing the content of education through the 4+4+4 system, appointing administrators to school who are close to the Government and at times in which the practices of those show similarities with Government’s practices”.
