United Nations (UN) Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura has made a warning about Idlib into where Syria is planning to launch campaign.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey noted yesterday (August 29) that they continued their talks with Iran and Turkey.
According to Reuters, referring to this operation, the UN envoy said that “10 thousand terrorists (Al Nusra and Al Qaeda) may participate in, and both Syrian forces and these forces may use chlorine gas as chemical weapon”.
Saying that humanitarian aid corridor needs to be established for civilians to be moved away from the region, de Mistura told journalists that dragging civilians to a potential war in the region may lead to a “perfect storm”.
Reinforcements by Russia and Turkey
Russia announced that it deployed at least 10 battleships and two submarines in east of the Mediterranean.
Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) informed that two military convoys, which were sent to Hama and Idlib to fortify the observation plots, reached the region on Wednesday.
The TAF had installed 12 observation plots in May. (PT/TK)
