After it was announced that the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and Free Syrian Army (FSA) "gained control" in Afrin city center, the former Co-Chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in northern Syria, Salih Müslim made a statement on his Twitter account about the latest developments in the region. Müslim said, "Withdrawal from one battle doesn't mean loose of war and give up the struggle."
Müslim also added, "The struggle will continue and the Kurdish people will keep defending themselves against the genocide planned on them. The victory will be N. Syrian peoples'. #AfrinNotAlone"

He was previously detained and released in Czechia
Following Turkey's request, Salih Müslim was taken into custody in Czechia's capital city of Prague on February 25, 2018. Although it was claimed that he was sought with Red Notice, it was then uncovered that there was no international Red Notice issued for Müslim. Despite the 16 to 40 days detention and extradition requests issued by Turkey, the court ruled on February 27 that Salih Müslim shall be released on the condition that he does not leave the borders of European Union countries.
