Syrian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Bashar Jaafari has urged the UN Security Council to include Afrin in ceasefire deal.
Jaafari said that they are having serious problems with random missile and artillery attacks launched by armed forces in Eastern Ghouta. Jaafari added that the forces called “moderate dissidents” in Eastern Ghouta are designated as “terrorist” by Syria and that these forces targeted Red Crescent building in Damascus with 10 missiles, and many people including a doctor lost their lives in these attacks.
“UN’s resolutions should include Afrin”
In his statement, Jaafari said that the UN passed 13 anti-terror resolutions and they all await “to be seriously put into effect”.
Stressing that the resolutions passed don’t include military operations launched against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and al Nusra Front, Jaafari emphasized that the resolution must include all Syria including Afrin region, Golan Heights and other regions where US forces are deployed.
Jaafari called on the governments of US, France and England to end their plans and strategies to divide Syria and overthrow the Syrian government. (HK/TK)
