Reuters has reported that the Syrian government forces have entered the areas which have been controlled by the People’s Protection Units (YPG) since December 2016.
Reuters citing an eyewitness in the region has reported that Syrian government forces have entered the al-Halak, Bani Zaid and Bustan al-Basha neighborhoods in Aleppo.
The claim that “they are marching to support Aftin”
On the other hand, Kurdish media in the region claimed that YPG-held Sheikh Maksud neighborhood has been handed in to the army, and all YPG militants headed towards Afrin to join the YPG forces.
YPG spokesperson denied claim of entrance
According to Reuters’ latest update, YPG Spokesperson Nouri Mahmoud denied that any government forces or institutions had gone into the zone under their control. (PT/TK)
