Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari MP Nihat Akdoğan taken into custody at Hakkari border, has been arrested. Including his arrest, the number of arrested HDP deputies has risen to 10.
In his statements as to the Council of Ministers meeting, Vice Prime Minister and Government Spokesperson Numan Kurtulmuş has announced that Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari MP Nihat Akdoğan was taken into custody at Hakkari border.
There was a detention warrant for Akdoğan. Two of the HDP MPs are in status of "fugitive", Kurtulmuş said.
Detention warrants were ordered for Faysal Sarıyıldız and Tuğba Hezer Öztürk in the operation launched against the HDP MPs on November 4, however, the two MPs couldn't be detained since they were abroad.
O November 4, HDP Co-Chairs Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş, HDP Group Deputy Chair İdris Baluken, Şırnak MPs Leyla Birlik, Ferhat Encü, Diyarbakır MP Nursel Aydoğan, Hakkari MPs Selma Irmak, Abdullah Zeydani and Mardin MP Gülser Yıldırım were arrested. Detained during the same operation, Diyarbakır MPs Ziya Pir and İmam Taşçıer, and Ankara MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder were released on condition of judicial control.
