Turkish Armed Forces Joint Special Mission Forces and US-led coalition air forces have launched an operation on Islamica State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Jarablus region in Aleppo in Syria.
The military operation started at around 4 a.m., according to the report of state-run Anadolu Agency.
The region has been bombed by jets following the intense artillery shooting by Storm howitzers and multiple rocket launchers.
TSK’s tanks are seen waiting at the Karkemish border area.
Since the beginning of the operation, Chief of General Staff Full General Hulusi Akar, Vice Chief of General Staff Full General Ümit Dündar are attending in the Armed Forces Command Headquarters at the Chief of General Staff Headquarters.
Special security zones in Antep
The areas marked on the map on Antep’s Jarablus border has been declared special security zone.
Nine mortar shells were fired on Karkemish
Seven mortar shells on Karkemish district center, two mortar shells on Yarımca neighborhood located on the borderline were launched from the ISIS-held area in Syria’s Jarablus region.

BBC claims 1,500 Free Syrian Army members are in Karkemish
BBC Türkçe interviewed with a Free Syrian Army (ÖSO) member in Antep on August 22. The ÖSO member had stated that 1,500 armed members came to Kalkemish and they are ready to generate a front in the north with the support of Turkey’s artillery shooting to take Jarablus back from ISIS. (NV/TK)
