Russian Leader Vladimir Putin emphasizing Turkey has apologized to Russia expressed that the relations will normalize between the two countries.
According to the news in Sputnik News, Putin speaking at the meeting held with ambassadors at Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs spoke as follows as to ties with Turkey:
“I spoke with President of Turkey, [Recep] Tayyip Erdoğan yesterday.
“It is known that Ankara apologized for shooting down Russian bombardment plane.
“Thus, important steps will be taken for bilateral relations to be recommenced in the near future”.
Presidential Spokesperson, İbrahim Kalın stating President Erdoğan in his letter he sent to Russian Leader Putin expressed his deep sorrow as to shooting down the Russian jet and had read, "I once more would like to express my sympathy and convey my condolences to the family of the Russian pilot who lost his life, and say 'I am sorry'". State-run Anadolu Agency (AA) had alleged that there is definitely no apology included in the letter. Prime Minister, Binali Yıldırım on live broadcast on public channel TRT had said, "Content of the letter is very obvious. We express our condolences. We say that we share the pain of the families of the ones who lost their lives. We express that we will pay compensation if needed". |
