Merkel: Relations Between Turkey and Germany are Strong

German Chancellor, Angela Merkel in her statement following the German Federal Assembly adopting the Armenian Genocide, said the ties between Turkey and Germany are comprehensive and strong.

Merkel in the press meeting she held with NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg stated that “There are many things binding Germany to Turkey and even if we have a difference of opinion on one subject, the dimension of our bond, friendship, and strategic ties is big”.

Merkel added she favors dialogue between Turkey and Armenia and she wishes for good relations with Turkey.

Stoltenberg said he hopes for the Turkey-Armenia relations to normalize in the shortest possible time. (YY/TK)
