In her weekly press meeting in Moscow, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Mariya Zaharova has stated that they had been getting concerned about the escalating environment of violence in Southeastern Turkey and added:
“We urge Ankara not to bet on using force which is a dead end road in handling the Kurdish question”.
According to Sputnik News, some headlines from Zaharova’s statement are as follows:
“285 civilians killed according to official figures”
“The extent of the acts of violence the Kurds living in Southeastern Turkey have been experiencing is continuing to worry us.
“According to official figures, since the beginning of these operations conducted by the Turkish Government under the name of ‘fight against terrorism’, 285 civilians have lost their lives. These are only the official numbers.
“We urge Ankara not to bet on using force which is a dead end road in handling the Kurdish question”. (EKN/DG)
