Explosion at Subway in Brussels

An explosion took place at Maelbeek subway station in Belgium’s capital city of Brussels.

Brussels Mayor has announced that over 20 people killed, 106 wounded in the attack in the metro.

The station is located at the center of the city and close to European Union institutes.

All metro stations have been closed.

Two explosions took place at Zaventern airport in Brussels today in the morning hours.

Belgian Minister of Interior, Jan Jambon in his statement on Monday remarking "We know stopping a cell may activate the others", had stated that they have been alarmed of a suicide attack. (ÇT/TK)
