"10 Boats Have Come in Two Days to the Bay I stay in”

Lesbos Island of Greece swarms with refugees.

10 boats have come to the region previous day. Each boat means 45 refugees.* There is no facilities or institution for the refugees in the island.

“As soon as Coast Guard departured”

A coast guard ship was in the region last morning. As soon as the coast guard ship departured, five boats came to the bays near Skala Skaminias town.

“If the sea is calm…”

Last night, at 11 p.m., two groups also came. I think people who get involved in human trafficking wanted to get benefit from the calm sea. Most of the boats come in the morning.

“15 children per boat”

There were 35 refugees in the boat which came to the bay we stay in, I reckon. Approximately 15 of them were children. They said they were coming from Syria, Palmyra and Homs. A young couple was from Kobani Canton. They had a nine-month baby in their hands.

 “Most of them were young”

Children who got off the boats started to play in the water with lifejackets and flotation rings on them. I can tell most of the refugees were youngsters. (MSD/HK/BD)

* International Organization for Migration stated more than 46,000 refugees set a foot on Greece in the first five months of 2015.  The number was 34,000 in 2014.
