University student Gülistan Doku has been missing for 207 days as of today (July 29). The prosecutor's office has rejected the request that Zeınal Abarakov, the chief suspect in the file, be arrested.
Ali Çimen, the attorney of Doku family, requested his arrest for the third time based on the expert report and Historical Traffic Search (HTS) records.
Receiving this request on July 23, Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has decided that the investigation continue without arresting Abarakov.
Speaking to bianet about the issue, attorney Çimen has said that their requests have been rejected without justification. "No justification has been given. We made general, more than one request," he has said and added:
"The prosecutor's office has accepted the unlawful requests and rejected others. We do not know which requests have been rejected, either."
According to the expert report, Zeınal Abarakov deforced Gülistan Doku on January 4, one day before she got missing. The police intervened after a citizen who saw the incident called the police.
Speaking to Ruken Tuncel from bianet on July 24, attorney Ali Çimen previously said, "If the suspect is not protected by some person or persons, he has to be absolutely and immediately arrested. Because both the expert report and the reports that we requested from the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) suggest strong criminal suspicion on the part of Zeınal Abarakov. He must be arrested."
