The parliament has approved a joint bill by four political parties on violence against women.
Accordingly, those who have an injunction order against them as part of measures against violence on women and children will not be able to possess or carry a weapon during the period of the injunction.
They will not be able to acquire a weapon license or renew their existing licenses. They will also be prevented from acquiring ungrooved rifles, shotguns and guns.
The bill was proposed by the Justice and Development Party (AKP), the Republican People's Party (CHP), the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and the Good Party (İYİ). (EMK/VK)
