According to the Male Violence Monitoring Reports of bianet, from January 1, 2018 to November 23, 2018, men killed at least 218 women.
Women were going to hold a march against male violence and femicides along the İstiklal Avenue in Taksim yesterday (November 25). However, the march to be held by women was prevented by the police.
In other words, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, women were faced with police violence. The police used tear gas on women, they tried to drag the women from the Tünel Square with their shields. But, it was to no avail. Women did not take a step back.
