Women will rally at 16th Feminist Night March to be held in Beyoğlu, İstanbul tomorrow (March 8).
Slogan of the traditional night march has been set as “Our Life, Rebellion, Struggle: FEMINIZM”.
Women will meet in front of French Cultural Center (Fransız Kültür Merkezi) tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
The statement of call for the march is:
“We have been continuing to live under the State of Emergency, be disciplined with war, and be subjected to live attacks increasing each day against women since last March 8. While religious affairs continues to take up more room in our lives, we see that covers to justify attacks on girls are being sought at full tilt. The events we organized as LGBTI+ are being banned. It is desired that we will have no space left to breathe.
“We will meet in the March 8 Feminist Night March this year again to share the breath we found in the women’s struggle and become stronger by coming together”.
A party will be held at The Mekan in Beyoğlu after the march.
The march is for women only
The night march will be close to the participation of cis male like every year.
While women march together on March 8, there are events for men as well. For instance, the venue called “mecra” in Kadıköy, İstanbul will open its doors to men at 8 p.m. and host the men who want to question patriarchy “starting from themselves” with the workshop titled “We Talk About Our Manhood”.
