Jülide Sarıeroğlu being appointed as the Minister of Labor and Social Security in the wake of the change made in the Cabinet of Ministers, Jülde Sarıeroğlu has taken over the portfolio of Mehmet Müezzinoğlu.
“Our ministry will meet with a woman minister again after 26 years. In this respect, I know that this is a heavy responsibility”, Sarıeroğlu said.
First woman minister in the Ministry of Labor was Dr. İmren Aykut. Aykut had served from December 21, 1987 to June 23, 1991.
Sarıeroğlu is the second woman minister together with Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya in the cabinet.

Sarıeroğlu was born in Adana in 1979. She graduated from Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relation in the Department of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Gazi University. She continues her postgraduate studies in the same department. She had a book titled “Women’s Studies Handbook-Working Women: Their Rights and New Legislations, and she has joint books titled Advantages of Registered Work, job Search Techniques, Child Rights, Social Dialogue Examples in EU Countries.
