Association for Struggle against Sexual Violence organized a symposium at Kadir Has University themed Sexual Violence and Gender Apartheid in Football on May 13-14.

In the symposium in which sexism and sexual violence in football were discussed, the longstanding prejudices on women LGBTIs’ relation with football, women’s football being neglected and the recent sexual abuse and sexual violence debates.

The opening speeches of the symposium were delivered by Hilal Esmer from the Association for Struggle against Sexual Violence Hilal Esmer, Prof. Dr. Canan Koca from the Sports and Physical Activity Association (KASFAD), and Emir Güney from the Sports Studies Research Center at Kadir Has University.

Various panels, workshops, forums and friendly games were carried out in the symposium. (ÇT/TK)
