Beaten while warning Justice and Development Party (AKP) MPs who weren’t complying with voting procedures during deliberations on 3rd Article of constitutional amendment talks, Republican People’s Party (CHP) MP Fatma Hürriyet Kaplan has protested the incident on parliamentary rostrum.
3rd Article that proposes to reduce eligible age to be chosen MP to 18 from 25 was passed yesterday (January 11) at the parliament.
On the parliamentary rostrum, Kaplan saying “Physical intervention by a Group Deputy Chair against a woman is not appropriate at all. I condemn you from here once again” declared that she was beaten.
Kaplan condemned Parliamentary Administrative Chief as well and said the administrative chief Ahmet Gündoğdu from the AKP seized her phone:
“You physically intervened, don’t you see my neck?”
“It is you who are liars, you are trying to deceive people here, I condemn this. I condemn you being this ravenous to attack a woman. I condemn you for being this ravenous for your grief for bringing presidential system.
“I am saying once again. To hell with your palaces, to hell with your presidential system, to hell with your constitution, to hell with your ambition”. (HK/TK)
