Turkey to Gradually Resume International Flights to 40 Countries as of June 10

Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a statement today (June 4) and has announced that they are planning to gradually resume international flights to 40 countries as of June 10.

The international flights from Turkey will carry passengers firstly to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC), Bahrain, Bulgaria, Qatar, and Greece, Adil Karaismailoglu has said in a statement.

Karaismailoglu has stressed that Turkey has taken initiatives with 92 countries to restart international flights and added, "We have come to an agreement with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Austria, Lithuania, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Albania, Belarus, the United Arab Emirates, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan, and Italy." 

Turkey suspended all international flights on March 28 amid COVID-19-related travel restrictions worldwide. Domestic flights have been continuing in the country as of June 1 as part of normalization steps.

International flights

Minister of Transportation Karaismailoğlu has listed the international flights to gradually resume as of June 10 as follows:

"As of June 10: The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC), Bahrain, Bulgaria, Qatar, and Greece; as of June 15: Germany, Austria, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic (Czechia), Croatia, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Japan, Republic of Northern Macedonia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, Tajikistan; as of June 20: The Netherland, Kazakhstan; as of June 22: Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, South Korea, Ireland, Montenegro, Latvia, Luxembourg, Norway, Slovakia; as of June 25: Belgium."

14-day isolation at home

Concluding his remarks, Karaismailoğlu has reminded that as part of the decisions taken by the Ministry of Health on May 20, the citizens arriving in Turkey from abroad will be isolated in their homes for a period of 14 days after they are examined at the airports. (AÖ/SD)
