Governorships of Diyarbakır and İstanbul have accepted Newroz Organization Committee’s application for the Newroz to be celebrated in Turkey’s southeastern province of Diyarbakır on March 21, Wednesday. The program will be organized between 11 a.m and 3 p.m in Diyarbakır, and it will be celebrated in istanbul from 1-5 p.m. at Bakırköy Halk Pazarı.
According to Mezopotamya Agency, the governorship’s decision was served on Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Provincial Co-chair Mehmet Şefir Camcı the other day.
Newroz celebration will be realized in 40 centers this year. Finale of the celebrations that started in Silvan on March 17 will be held in Diyarbakır and İstanbul on March 21.
Applications with respect to Newroz celebrations to be realized in Adana, Mersin, Tekirdağ, Şırnak’s district of Cizre and Mardin’s district of Nusaybin on March have been accepted as well.
The celebrations have started
Celebrated with the motto “Newroz is Resistance, It’s Spring of Peoples Against Fascism” this year, the Newroz celebrations began in Urfa’s district of Siverek. HDP Urfa MP Osman Baydemir also participated in the celebration that was held in the district on March 17.
The Newroz celebration organized in Antalya on March 17 was held with the participation of HDP Co-chair Sezai Temelli.

The Newroz program city by city was set as follows:
March 17: Silvan, Kızıltepe, Konya, Siirt, Kocaeli, Antalya, Bingöl, Ardahan.
March 18: Batman, Mardin, Suruç, Antep, Bursa, Dersim, Bitlis, Maraş.
March 19: Muş, Hakkari, Iğdır, Adıyaman, Ağrı, Ergani.
March 20: Malatya, Doğubeyazıt, Manisa, Karakoçan, Kars, Hatay/İskenderun, Ankara.
March 21: Diyarbakır, Van, Urfa, İstanbul, İzmir, Adana, Mersin, Nusaybin, Cizre, Yüksekova. (AS/TK)
