Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has announced that the mass celebrations in İstanbul for Newroz would take place in Kartal square between 11 a.m and 3 p.m tomorrow (March 21).
According to the information provided by the HDP, the party's İstanbul MPs Filiz Kerestecioğlu and Garo Paylan are also going to attend the celebrations.
Newroz celebrations were banned on March 19
Previously on March 19, Newroz Organization Committee had chosen Bakırköy Public Bazaar in İstanbul for the Newroz celebrations but the police had surrounded the area and blocked the entrance and exits of the subway station in the area.
Upon this the committee had applied for other districts such as Sultanbeyli, Kartal, Sultangazi, Gaziosmanpaşa, Bağcılar and Küçükçekmece for the celebrations for March 21. (CK/YY/DG)
