67 people have died and 573 others been wounded in road accidents during the nine-day Sacrifice Feast (Eid al-Adha) holiday.
On the last day of the holiday, five people lost their lives and 103 others were wounded on their return from holiday, the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.
The death toll has decreased compared with last year.
A notice sent to provincial security directorates by the Security General Directorate had instructed police not to fine drivers who violate traffic rules during the holiday.
134 people died in 2015 Eid
134 people died and 819 others were injured in road accidents during the nine-day Sacrifice Feast holiday in 2015. In 2014, there were 28 deaths and 165 injuries during the four-day holiday.
According to a report by AA, 14,644 accidents took place in the last 10 years. 728 people lost their lives and 31,133 people were injured in those accidents. (BK/TK)
